Bob Whelan is from Athlone. He has been described as a cross between Eamon Dunphy and Pete Doherty but prefers to think he’s more like John Giles. He used to believe writing was just for gays, virgins and housewives but now he realises there’s a fair few cowards, chancers and blackguards at it too. He falls in love every time he goes outside and dreams of becoming an accountant.
